Banbury Aspirations Campus students enjoyed the last few days of summer when they completed their Bronze DofE expedition. The award requires an assessed expedition: students have to design a route and menus; walk for two days and camp overnight. To pass this section of the award, 30 year 10 and year 11 students camped out at Wykham Park Academy and then walked to near Stratford upon Avon the following day where they camped overnight.

The expedition had been delayed from earlier in the year because of covid restrictions and took a great deal of organising to be able to go ahead Thank you to all staff that helped – it was worth it to see the young people enjoy themselves and have fun!

Especial thanks to Mr Bent for being our assessor, coming out on the Friday evening and first thing on the Saturday morning to assess progress.

DofE Bronze Award camping

If you wish to join in with the fun, hopefully we will rerun the fun in April (upper school) and June (year 9).

Meanwhile Carry on Camping!
