PSHCEE at Banbury Aspirations Campus is very important to us. The Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Economic Education (PSHCEE) curriculum is a carefully planned programme of learning through which our students acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to live healthy, safe, productive, capable, responsible and balanced lives now and in the future. As part of a whole-campus approach, PSHCEE education develops the qualities and attributes students need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society.

'Spiritual, moral social and cultural education is a strength. Students are well-prepared for life in modern Britain and are proud of their inclusive school community. Fundamental British values are promoted well.'
(Ofsted May 2018)

PSHCEE education contributes to all students’ personal development by helping them to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem and manage and identify risk, make informed choices and understand what influences their decisions. It enables them to recognise, accept and shape their identities to understand and accommodate difference and change, to manage emotions and to communicate constructively in a variety of settings. Developing an understanding of themselves, empathy and the ability to work with others will help students to form and maintain good relationships, develop the essential skills for future employability and better enjoy and manage their lives.

PSHCEE is delivered through a weekly mentor programme and Drop Down Hours timetabled throughout the year. The PSHCEE curriculum is designed for each age group leading to a coherent coverage of important issues such as personal relationships, social responsibility, health, diversity and economic well-being.  Controversial and sensitive subjects are delivered with the assistance of approved published materials, selected and adapted by staff with requisite expertise.

The PSHCEE programme is divided into 5 areas:
