Staff at Wykham Park Academy have been truly generous this festive season. Our Nurture students received gift boxes and sat down to a fabulous roast turkey dinner to celebrate Christmas.

Student Services team with Gift Boxes

All this was made possible by the hard work of our Nurture and Welfare team who collected donations of toiletries, small toys, gloves, socks, stationary, sweets and chocolates. Gifts were also purchased with money gifted by the Leamington Spa branch of technology company ARM. Whilst these may seem small presents to many, they make such an enormous difference to our most vulnerable students, showing them that they are cared for and are valued. We are proud to say that we managed to provide 155 students with gifts this year.

Gift Boxes

Not content to rest on their laurels, the Nurture and Welfare team went on to organise a raffle for staff, selling enough tickets to purchase the food for the Christmas dinners that they then cooked for 40 students.  Food and table crackers were also donated by local businesses including Hook Norton Butchers, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.

This year it has been more important than ever to show our students we care. The kindness and dedication of the Nurture and Welfare team, the support of the staff and local businesses has encouraged all students to develop a sense of self-worth and belonging at Wykham Park Academy.
