We are pleased to announce that we have made two exciting new appointments to the South Central Regional Board of the Aspirations Academies Trust.
Sam Keegan has agreed to join us as Co-Opted Community & Business Link Governor, while Wendy Woodward is joining as the Parent (Secondary) Governor.
We look forward to working with Wendy and Sam, who will bring valuable insights and perspectives to the Board, while helping us to develop our relationships with our schools, local communities and businesses.
“I’m delighted to become a governor, my family and I live in Banbury and we’ve got a little boy at the wonderful Harriers Banbury Academy, so I’m quite invested
in supporting the academy trust and the local schools in any way I can”, explained Sam. “I work in Intellectual Property for a giant food company and, outside of work and school, I love to swim and kayak (usually separately). I promise you all that I’ll pay close attention to the details in policies and at governors’ meetings, but I would also love to be a contact for anything you’d like to raise during my 4-year appointment.”
Wendy Woodward, who previously taught as a secondary school teacher before moving into educational publishing, enthused, “I am delighted to serve as a parent governor. I have seen first hand the transformative power of education, and also the wide-ranging challenges schools face today, and am eager to bring my experience and passion to support the students, staff, and wider school community. I’m looking forward to contributing to an environment where every young person has the opportunity to succeed.”
Please join us in welcoming Wendy and Sam to the governing body.
