It has been a really busy and exciting past week within the PE department with the launch of our extra-curricular provision activities.

The week saw over 80 students across Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 involved in our new inter college football competition as well as seeing some new and regular faces at our Netball, Hockey and Table Tennis clubs.

Year 8 Table tennis and Year 9 Football

The year 7 and 8 football produced some high quality and competitive matches with mixed teams proving to be a real success. In year 7, Dyrham overcame an early goal to come out on top against Newark and lead the current standings after 1 game. Year 8 saw a similarly competitive set of fixtures with all teams demonstrating excellent sporting values and fair play throughout. After 2 fixtures each Charlecote lead the current tables after winning both of their fixtures on Tuesday evening. Finally, Friday saw the Year 9 game between Newark and Dyrham end in a high quality 2 -2 draw.

All students and staff have expressed their delight at the re-introduction of after school clubs and even though we are all getting used to the new way of playing in bubbles the students have remained the same, demonstrating an amazing attitude and effort throughout.  We hope to continue the success in the weeks building up to Christmas and get even more students participating in what we have to offer.
