Vision:
Learning Spanish with us offers a fascinating insight into other cultures and the chance to discover a whole new language.
Students learn how to use Spanish in different scenarios, to apply prior learning to new situations and later to master the finer details of the language. Lessons are designed to engage and enthuse, often inspiring a lifelong curiosity about the wider world.
There are opportunities to broaden horizons through foreign travel with our regular trips abroad to France and Spain. Students also take part in interactive experiences like plays, film immersive experiences, Outreach work with Warwick and Oxford University and sampling foreign cuisine.
Acquiring any second language is an important element of a well-rounded education. It requires commitment and discipline but the rewards are many. We aim to empower students by giving them another language, another voice.
As part of our EAL provision,promising linguists are encouraged to take up another language while native speakers are given the opportunity to excel as bi-linguists. (Other languages currently tested are Polish, Greek, French, Portuguese, Russian and Italian).
